What Accessories Go With the Lodge Cook-It-All? – 5 Tools to Consider

You can use the Lodge Cook-It All just the way it is.

However, you may want to add a few accessories to increase the versatility and make your cooking experience more enjoyable.

It already comes with two handles to assist in picking each piece up when hot, but you might like to raise the cooking surface higher while cooking or have gloves for protection.

And though you don’t need a storage bag, it sure makes transporting easier. As does having an extra tool/stand ora  quicker, more efficient way of preparing charcoals to put on top of the pizza or Dutch oven.

So, let’s find out more about each.

What Accessories Go with the Lodge Cook-It-All?

I picked five accessories you might be interested in with the Cook-It-All. One is leather gloves that protect your hands and forearms from the heat and the fire. Second, the Fire & Cook Stand will raise the Cook-It-All and allow air to flow underneath better. The third is a Camp Oven Tote Bag for transporting and storage. And fourth is the 4-in-1 Dutch oven tool that’s a resting stand or another lifter. Finally, a charcoal chimney will prepare hot coals in about ten minutes.

1. Leather Gloves

Leather is thick, heat-resistant, and the best type of gloves to wear when working around fire and hot cast iron. Leather gloves protect your hands and forearms from the radiant heat and sparks from the fire.

You can take a pair of leather gloves camping or use them at home with your grill, smoker, fire pit, or wood stove. They are great whenever you are working with hot metal or fire. You can even move hot logs around without fear of burning yourself.

If you don’t have gloves to use with your Cook-It-All, consider getting a pair of Lodge Leather Outdoor Cooking Gloves.

2. Fire & Cook Stand

The Fire & Cook Stand comes in handy for raising your Cook-It-All off the ground. It allows air to flow underneath for better cooking. And the bottom of your food will be less likely to burn.

Additionally, it’s easy to build a fire. One way is to put a firestarter and a bunch of twigs in the middle under the stand. And build up walls of logs on all sides. You can even use it to make a Teepee-like campfire.

I think you will be glad to have a Fire & Cook stand to go with your Cook-It-All.

3. 14-Inch Camp Oven Tote Bag

If you need to transport your Cook-It-All anywhere, this tote bag is the one to get. It’s durable and will last.

It’s made for the 14-inch camp oven, but Lodge says the Cook-It-All will also fit. The padding inside will keep your cast iron safe, and the exterior is weather-resistant.

This tote isn’t for storing hot items, though.

Brand: Lodge

Material:
Heavy-duty padded polyester exterior
Dimensions:
14-inch diameter x 3.25-inch deep
Weight:
0.79 lbs.
Zipper:

Made in: China
Great for: transporting cast iron cookware

4. 4-in-1 Dutch Oven Tool

The 4-in-1 tool has four uses:

  • Cook stand – raise any piece of the cookware off the ground while cooking.
  • Lid stand – a place to rest your lid as you stir the food
  • Lid lifter – the hooks fit into a Dutch oven lid for lifting
  • Bail lifter – the hooks can lift the handle of the Dutch oven to move

This tool is primarily a stand when using it with the Cook-It-All. Since the Cook-It-All comes with its own handles, you won’t need it for lifting.

It’s much like the Cook and Fire Stand except it doesn’t sit as high. You can place it in th efire or over coals to get your pan off the ground. Or use it as a trivet for resting your lid while stirring the food.

Some people buy two to cook on one and have the other a stand for holding the lid.

5. Charcoal Chimney

When using a Cook-It-All, you often put coals on top of the lid for cooking pizza or in the Dutch oven. Sometimes you’ll even use charcoal underneath the pan. Or if you have a 4-in-1 tool of Cook & Fire Stand.

Getting coals ready can be quicker if you have a charcoal chimney. It will hold 50-60 briquettes, but you don’t have to use that many. All you need is some newspaper and a match or lighter. The newspaper goes in the bottom and the charcoal on top.

It has holes so you can see its progress, and if you need more newspaper, it’s easy to lift and add more.

Just think, no more self-lighting charcoal or lighter fluid is needed. So, if you use charcoal in your outdoor cooking, I recommend having a charcoal chimney like the one Lodge makes.

Final Thoughts

So, as you can see, having a few accessories with your Cook-It-All will make outdoor cooking much more enjoyable.

Leather gloves will protect your hands and even allow you to move logs around. You will feel more at ease and less afraid of getting burned.

The Fire & Cook Stand will allow you to get your cookware off the ground while cooking over a fire. And air will be able to flow underneath for more even cooking.

Furthermore, a camp oven tote bag will come in handy when transporting your Cook-It-All or any other larger Dutch or Camp oven. However, keep in mind that you shouldn’t transport hot food in it.

Another accessory you might like is the 4-in-1 Dutch oven tool. It can replace the Fire & Cook Stand, or you might want both.

And last but not least is the charcoal chimney. You often use coals in outdoor cooking, and being able to quickly get them ready is a plus. Additionally, you won’t need lighter fluid or self-lighting charcoal.

Of course, any of these accessories have other uses too. They don’t only go with a Cook-It-All.

Or, maybe, after reading this article, you might like to learn more about the Cook-It-All itself.
